Ott and Huey Email Show

Hi Fans…So sorry for the delay recently in getting a new episode up. Work and parenting schedules have gotten a little tricky for us, and now I’ve got an upcoming vacation that’s going to prolong our unintended hiatus just a little longer. We are working on solutions so this doesn’t happen often and look forward to having a month’s worth of material to put into episode #40. In the meantime, to stay sharp, we’re still emailing each other more than can really be healthy…here’s a taste of that to hold you over for another week or so. Back soon, we promise!

Just let me know what day works for next week.  I’ll try to get some material together on Saturday. Should huntwood come on to talk about baseball?

Yeah, I’m wondering if the material I have is getting old at this point?  I’m not sure on a day, I have to work, like every night…can you do Sunday evening, or Monday late? If not, I’ll have to see what day I can go in a bit later and let you know.

Looked it up…here we go…

Ambiguity or speaking cryptically: a means of engendering a felling of insecurity in others- in my mind, this isn’t passive aggressive, this a comedy and typically American.

Chronically being late and forgetting things: another way to exert control or punish. I hate being late. It happens, but I hate it.

Fear of competition; I’m a Yankee fan so, by definition we have no competition.

Fear of dependency; I drink alcohol on a regular basis and love it. Some may think I depend on it…

Fear of intimacy as a means to act out anger: This sentence doesn’t even make sense.  Usually angry people don’t want to be intimate and touchy-feely people aren’t angry.  I don’t like people touching me.  It’s not a mental defect it’s more of a avoiding the spreading of germs.  I’ll hug you at Christmas, funeral or a wedding.  If I see you on the street a simple wave or hand shake will do just fine.

Making chaotic situations; not a personality defect….comedy.

Making excuses for non-performance in work teams- if this is a definition then our whole government, including the President, is passive aggressive.

Sulking; I always sulk. Being happy just doesn’t suite me. So, f-off.

Victimization response: tendency to blame other for own failures; typically, if I fail it’s definitely someone else’s fault because I got my shiit on lock down. I’m not the victim but if you make me look bad you are…

Those are kind of strange definitions…acts and tactics that can be purposefully used to be passive aggressive. It’s using such methods as a way of hurting, pis$ing off or unloading work onto, others.

I’m not trying to hurt anybody, I’m trying to relieve my frustration – if Jimmy or Tina gets smoked in the process, they are just collateral damage.

From: Huey
To: Ott
Sent: 4/13/10 10:09 a.m.
Subject: RE: Open days this week.

I’m trying to hurt people who deserve it in the spirit of comedy.

People who rose to the celebrity status because they went to a doctor and got overly pregnant deserve the pain I dish out because it’s equally as painful to see them on gossip shows and dancing with other b and c celebrities.

Also, generally speaking, people from Saugerties, New York deserve getting pained.  Saugerties doesn’t deserve its own exit ramp, it barley qualifies for a zip code.  Just because they have a dairy queen doesn’t give them a right to have a comedy late night show…

And Tina? She’s not quite as funny as she might want to believe.  Anyone can do an impression of Sarah Palin and we read the news better than she and Jimmy.  She’s ok. She’s the kicker on your fantasy football team or the closer on your fantasy baseball team.  She can score here and there but you wouldn’t lose sleep if she wasn’t around.  I’ve never thought to myself…”this television show, movie, card game, knitting circle or constipation breaking shiit would be funnier if Tina Fay was involved…”

Here’s how to fix our current over-taxing. Treat the government like a corporation.

  1. Make a profit on goods and services…what can we offer? Protection, food, shelter. Immediately pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan. They want us to stay they gotta pay.
  2. If the government continues to operate on a loss…fired the top executives.
  3. Flat tax.
  4. Privatize the retirement fund.
  5. Operate with-in the means.  We can’t afford it (health care over-haul, federal/ state witness protection, foreign aide) we don’t buy it.
  6. Give China Puerto Rico, they don’t want us any way…
